Gem Silica is the rarest and highest form of Chrysocolla, crystallized and infused in Quartz. Gem Silica occurs in a vivid blue green color due to the presence of copper in the stone and is free of inclusions of other minerals. It was named and first described by the Greek philosopher and botanist Theosphrastus in 315 BCE.
